It was a memorable day, evening of August 21, 2022, when M. Maria Fracasso passed away. It was also the day we got the most awaited news of the newly elected Mother General, M. Sandra Maggiolo during the General Chapter in Rome. Surely, M. Maria who was well aware of the ongoing General Chapter was praying for the Institute she dearly loved till her death.
Today, we commemorate her first death anniversary with a morning Eucharistic Celebration in Canossa College Chapel, San Pablo City. The Mass was presided over by Fr. Anthony Raymond Apostol, a seminary priest. Many Sisters came from nearby communities to attend the celebration. M. Maria was the last Italian missionary in the Province and a pioneer Sister in some communities like Tondo and Bulihan. As a true- bloodied missionary, she could speak Tagalog very well and was loved by the poor whom she served zealously and generously because she saw Christ in them. May her soul rest in peace.
