Canossian Daughters of Charity

April 6, 2022

The members of the Conference on Major Superiors of the Philippines (CMSP) organized a Solidarity Mass for the Moral Choice on April 6 at 9:30am at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help (Baclaran Church). Some Canossian Sisters from NCR attended the Mass. His Eminence Cardinal Jose F. Advincula, D.D. the Archbishop of Manila, presided over the Mass, with Bishop Pablo Virgilio S. David, D.D. the Bishop of Kalookan and CBCP President as homilist. The Solidarity Mass for Moral Choice was participated and celebrated by the clergy, religious groups, lay leaders from different Church- based organizations and groups and the lay faithful in response to the CBCP’s call for prayer for a credible and peaceful election on May 9.

Our presence in this Mass is a response to the call of the Bishops in their Pastoral Letter to declare and assert our prophetic stand for truth, justice, peace, and prudence in communion with the Church of the Poor as we commit ourselves in the building of a just, humane, and peaceful Philippine society. In his homily, Bishop David appealed to the voters, “Our low regard and inaction to politics will not bring development. Let us not gamble the future of our country. We need to be involved. Let us work to change our political culture, even if little by little.”
