Super typhoon Odette with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h and gustiness of 260 km/h hit the country on December 2021 and ravaged regions in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Majority of the people affected were left with houses destroyed, without food supplies, potable water, access to electricity and communication lines. They felt isolated for sometime having no way to communicate to their relatives elsewhere.
As early as January, Sisters from Bohol and Southern Leyte which were badly hit by typhoon Odette found ways to help the victims through food supplies and later house repairs. Many generous persons shared their resources from this appeal for help and about 50 families received assistance amounting to P416,000 to rebuild their houses through donations of roof, sawali or timber. Presently, the rebuilding goes on as they still wait for government assistance from DSWD.
We are grateful to the donors for their generosity to uplift the morale of our brothers and sisters in need during this disaster. May the Lord continue to bless you and your loved ones. We entrust these families to the Lord to remain steadfast in faith and trust that He will always be with them.
