Seven ladies from the different parts of Luzon gathered in Provincial House in Paco, Manila for a vocation encounter on August 27, 2023. At the the Eucharistic Celebration, Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM, invited these ladies to see how God has been in search of them in their daily experiences. As Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say that I am?”, the participants were led to reflect on God’s presence and guidance in their searching. After the Holy Mass, Fr. Aldrin gave an input on vocational discernment enriched by his personal vocation story. This was deepened in their encounter with Jesus during the Eucharistic adoration.
They were also given the opportunity to know more about the Canossian Sisters through their visit to the Archive and Museum. Sr. Lydia Colmenar, FdCC joyfully and enthusiastically explained the heritage of the Canossian Mission in the Philippines coming from the inspiration of St. Magdalene of Canossa who longed to be turned into dust to make Jesus known and loved to all parts of the world. Afterwards, the participants had a glimpse of the areas which are considered the cloister through a mini-open house occupied by the Sisters of Paco community. In this whole day encounter, the ladies felt assured that God’s love and graciousness support their desire to discover His plan for each of them.
